Reichenbach

Asteroid 20582, Reichenbach, was discovered on September 9, 1999 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research Team (LINEAR) at Socorro, New Mexico. It is a main-belt asteroid with a period of 4 years, 93 days.

It was named for American middle-school teacher Edith Reichenbach, who mentored a finalist in the 2004 Discovery Channel Youth Science Challenge (DCYSC), a middle school science competition.

Reichenbach is a German surname meaning "living beside the swift-flowing stream."

Asteroid Reichenbach's influence seems to be described with the phrase "swimming against the tide."

The glyph for Reichenbach is mine.
