Aristaeus

Asteroid 2135, Aristaeus, is an Apollo asteroid which was discovered on April 17, 1977 by Eleanor F. "Glo" Helin and S. J. "Buddy" Bus at Palomar Observatory near Pauma Valley, California. It has a period of 2 years, 8 days.

Aristaeus is named for the son of Apollo and the nymph Cyrene, a hero of Greek myth who is credited (in Greek mythology) with introducing humanity to beekeeping, cheesemaking, dairying, olive growing, and trapping. He lifted a curse on the inhabitants of the island of Kea (Ceos) by catching murderers hiding in their midst and introducing an annual sacrifice to Sirius, the Dog Star.

Astrologically, Aristaeus seems to mean agriculture, beekeeping, cheesemaking, trapping, lifting a curse, "the best" (the literal Greek meaning of Aristaeus' name).
