Asteroid 14708, Slaven, was discovered on February 2, 2000 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) Team at Socorro, New Mexico. It has a period of 3 years, 126 days.
It was named after Beech Grove, Indiana middle-school teacher Kathy Slaven, who mentored a finalist in the 2001 Discovery Young Scientist Challenge (DYSC) middle-school science fair.
The meaning of asteroid Slaven, though, seems to be what its name might suggest: slavery, enslavement, to drive hard.
The glyph for Slaven is mine.
