Asteroid 6600, Qwerty, was discovered on August 17, 1988 by Antonin Mrkos at Klet Observatory near České Budějovice, South Bohemia, Czech Republic. It has a period of 3 years, 141 days.

It was named for the standard Roman-alphabet typewriter, nicknamed Qwerty after the first six of the top row of letter keys (from left to right). This design was patented by American inventor Christopher Sholes.
