Laplace


Asteroid 4628, Laplace, was discovered on September 7, 1986 by Eric W. Elst at Rozhen Observatory near Chepelare, Smolyan, Bulgaria. Laplace has a period of 4 years, 111 days and is about 11 2/3 miles in diameter.

It was named for the French astronomer and mathematician Pierre-Simon Laplace (1745-1827).
