Asteroid 2805, Kalle, was discovered on October 15, 1941 by Liisi Oterma at Turku, Finland. It has a period of 4 years, 154 days and is about 10 1/3 miles in diameter.

It was named for Finnish math professor and high-school and college math textbook writer Kalle Vaisala (1893-1968); his older brother, Yrjo Vaisala, was a distinguished astronomer. (Kalle is pronounced KAH-lay.)
